Favourite, Team Lagos male basketball team, is living up to expectations at the ongoing 18th National Sports Festival tagged Eko 2012.
After defeating Kwara 76-47 in the fifth game of the competition, Team Lagos remain unbeaten.
Before the victory over Kwara, Team Lagos had defeated Enugu 63-43, Plateau 53-41, Ekiti 83-33 and Imo 58-37.
The Coach of the team, Mark Balogun, on Monday declared that his lads are getting stronger with every match.
Balogun said: “We are getting stronger day by day.
“I want to say that Kwara are no pushovers because they are good as well.
“But my players are in form and we remain committed to our objective of winning the gold medal.
“We shall surely make Lagosians proud at the end.’’
Also in the men’s event played at the Mobolaji Johnson Sports Complex, Rowe Park, Bayelsa defeated Zamfara by 53-47.
In the women’s event, Team Abuja recorded their third victory after beating Niger 82-52.
