Osinbajo said the steering committee on the concession of the nation’s railway, headed by the Minister of Transport, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, should be innovative, urging the members to remove whatever obstacles that stand in the way of a smooth concessioning process, hoping that the committee will meet its deadlines and end up “to be an example of how it should be done”

A statement by Alhaji Bature Masari, the Director-General of the Small and Medium Scale Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria, the organisers of the summit, made the disclosure on Monday in Abuja

He said: “The Council bill is taking time but it should be made to work for those who cannot afford new vehicles.”
Speaking on Monday during a briefing by the Council in his office in Abuja, Prof. Osinbajo said he was concerned about the strategy for raising funds and pressure which the importation of used vehicles exert on foreign exchange

He said: “The many civil society groups, funding partners, regional and international partners have given up their time, resources and even lives in some cases and deserve to be commended

While thanking the EU for participating actively throughout the electoral process of the country before, during and after the polls, and making useful recommendations that could improve the process, he gave the assurance that the Federal Government would study and consider the recommendations as soon as possible
