The Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udoma Udoma, says the Federal Government will go into negotiations with senior civil servants soon after the bill on the new National Minimum Wage is assented to by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Bello disclosed this when the Nigerian Fleet Implementation Committee paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Budget and Planning in Abuja, Senator Udoma Udoma.
Speaking at the FT Nigeria Summit sponsored by First Bank of Nigeria Plc and others in Lagos, Udoma said the non-oil sector accounted for the growth recorded.
He said the meeting was to review what the participants of the Focused Labs had done in the past three weeks and what was expected of them until the programme ends on April 26.
Udoma announced this at a joint briefing with Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State and Deputy Governor Nkem Okeke of Anambra State.
Those expected at the briefing, which will be held at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Abuja, include media practitioners, Heads of Federal Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies, representatives of States and Local Governments, Private Sector Operators and Associations, Captains of industry and Civil Society Organizations
He said that the Federal Government would also review the current joint venture arrangements with oil companies, marginal oil fields as well as mount pressure on revenue generating agencies to surpass expected target
Udoma stated that the approved document would soon be presented to the National Assembly by President Buhari after consultations with the leadership of the Assembly
It stated that government was looking at various strategic ways of restoring revenue and getting the economy back on the path of sustainable growth
The Director of Administration in the ministry, Christian Ezeilo, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja that all Ministries, Departments and Agencies had been directed to do same
Senator Udoma, while giving overview of the government’s plan to reflate the economy and spend out of the recession, said that government is trying to contain the militancy in the Niger Delta, which has affected oil production in the country, hoping to restore production to 2.2 million barrels a day at the end of the year
Senator Udoma, who was speaking at a meeting with the Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund, Prof. Babatunde Osotimehin, and his delegation from the agency’s office in New York, at the weekend in Abuja, said Nigeria has the human capacity to realize the objective but needed support and patronage to drive the process
The minister said due to four strategic pipeline terminals that were blow up, Nigeria had been unable to achieve its 2016 Budget production target of 2.2 million barrels a day
He said the executive had a plan to get the economy out of recession and put it back on the path of sustainable growth
He said the ministry had developed the National Integrated Infrastructure Master Plan for accelerated infrastructure development in the country for the next 30 year
He said: “The summit would be used to galvanise support from stakeholders on the need to commit to the structural and fiscal challenges required to strengthen the Nigerian economy
Udoma made this known when the Regional Director of the World Health Organisation, Dr. Matshidiso Rebecca Moeti, visited him in his office.
