As reports continue to swirl regarding a possible unification battle with current WBC belt holder Tyson Fury, Sulaiman has spoken directly to AJ for the first time.

The heavyweight fighter’s career took a drastic lurch for the worse after defeating Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 – with Fury having candidly admitted to contemplating suicide during his darkest moments.

Wilder, one of the most outspoken fighters in the heavyweight division, has been incredibly quiet since losing his WBC heavyweight belt in his rematch with Fury back in February.

Joshua and Fury are expected to fight at least once in 2021, with AJ bringing his WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO world titles and Fury adding his WBC strap to a mouth-watering heavyweight unification scrap.

It is understood Joshua’s defence of his WBA, IBF and WBO crowns against Kubrat Pulev has been pencilled in for December 12 at London’s O2 Arena, while Fury, the WBC champion, is committed to a third bout with Deontay Wilder.

Fury, who won the WBC heavyweight title in February, has prior experience of professional wrestling after beating Brawn Strowman during WWE’s 2019 pay-per-view Crown Jewel.

The Gypsy King is currently closing in on a trilogy bout with Deontay Wilder on December 19, though the fight is far from certain given the ever-changing global situation.

Dillian Whyte’s KO defeat to Alexander Povetkin on Saturday night removed the WBC mandatory that threatened to disrupt a potential undisputed fight next year.
