A FIRS statement on Sunday in Lagos said that all banks in the country would do substitution on accounts for such identified taxpayers.

Ugwuanyi, who spoke at the meeting of the Joint Tax Board in Enugu on Monday, said that no fewer than eight federal institutions owed over N18 billion to the state in unpaid taxes.
Fowler also said the service is on course to achieve its target of N5 trillion from taxes in the 2018 fiscal year.
Fowler made the call at the 137th Meeting of the JTB in Ilorin, Kwara state, according to a statement by Wahab Gbadamosi, the FIRS Director of Communications and Servicom.
A report published by The PUNCH stated that the sum represents a significant leap over the N778.19 billion recorded in the first quarter of last year.
Fowler said this at the 13th General Assembly of the West African Tax Administration Forum with the theme: “Enhancing the Revenue Potential of West Africa” held on Wednesday in Abuja.
The FIRS boss explained that those under the impression that the government will be fazed by an avalanche of litigations that may arise at the closure of the VAIDS window on March 31 are mistaken.
