The party said that Anenih wants to use the meeting as a platform for those attending to reject the registration of the PDM as a political party
Rather, it was agreed that the reconciliation meeting should continue on October 7
Those absent included former President Olusegun Obasanjo; the President of the Senate, David Mark; and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal
The meeting, which had in attendance governors loyal to Jonathan, some governors elected on the platform of the PDP but who are now with the Baraje-led faction and some members of the National Executive Committee of the party under the leadership of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, was said to have been tense because of the positions taken by Babangida and Obasanjo
Speaking Sunday night at the post-convention dinner hosted by President Goodluck Jonathan at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Anenih insisted the time is ripe for the President to declare, adding that preparation towards 2015 must start in earnest
Emerging from the meeting presided over by former President Olusegun Obasanjo at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, the New PDP Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Baraje, and Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State headed straight to inspect the faction’s secretariat, which is still being renovated
