In commemoration of the 2019 World Cancer Day and demonstration of its unwavering commitment to the fight against breast cancer in Nigeria, Polaris Bank has encouraged Nigerians to adhere to quality eating habit and healthy lifestyle to avoid contracting cancer.
Speaking at the function held at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos on Tuesday, the Group Managing Director/CEO of the bank, Tokunbo Abiru, said the love and care demonstrated to breast cancer patients and survivors have enormous positive influence on their physical and mental wellbeing.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, Polaris Bank has intervened in the treatment of more than 50 women with breast cancer across the country.

Abiru disclosed this on Wednesday during the unveiling of a TV commercial on its digital banking solution, SkyeXperience.
He said: “As part of planned activities to commemorate this year’s World Savings Day, we will be taking financial literacy campaign to 30 schools across the six geo-political zones in the country.
In a statement to mark this year’s World Breast Cancer Month, the bank’s Group Managing Director/CEO, Tokunbo Abiru, described cancer as one of the leading causes of death worldwide, especially in developing countries where inadequate medical care and lack of awareness about the disease have combined to make it very deadly.
