Nigeria’s influential employers union has warned the Federal Government not to go ahead with a proposal to increase the Value-Added Tax charged in the country.
Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association says Nigeria’s increasing debt burden could have negative implications on developmental capacity of the economy.
Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, made the call when he received the new Director-General of Nigeria Employers Consultative, Timothy Olawale, on a visit to his office on Friday in Abuja.
Timothy Olawale, a Director in NECA, told a news conference that the bill, when passed and assented to, had the potential of facilitating the ease of doing business in the country.
