Founded on 10th October 2010, TEC has grown exponentially from having over 300 people at its inaugural service at Magnolia Hall, Onikan to reaching millions of people across the world through its vibrant digital and television ministry, as well as via nine expressions across Nigeria, Canada and the United Kingdom.
The Elevation Church (TEC) is a non-denominational church in Lagos, founded by Pastor Godman Akinlabi, popular for his practical, relatable messages, which has attracted him to many especially amongst young people in Nigeria. He was vocal in his support for the fight against injustice and police brutality during the #EndSARS protests and has been profiled by the outreach magazine.
This was contained in his message to Nigerian workers on the occasion of the International Workers’ Day celebration on May 1, 2021.
Akinlabi is starting the programme with two crucial modules: Marriage Preparatory Course for singles looking to start their journeys, and Marriage Enhancement Course for married couples looking to reinvigorate their relationships
Attendance at the Vantage Forum is free.
The clergyman said this in an opinion piece, titled: “The Church in Nigeria: Silent no more,” on Monday.
The average youth is actively looking for a chance for self-realisation in other countries. They are looking for reasons to believe in their leaders again, to believe and hope in a future that they feature in prominently, and unfortunately the Church has not done enough to mediate in this impasse between hope and illusion – between the youth and the government
In a special edition of the church’s midweek event: “Switch,” titled: “Radical Transformation II,” Akinlabi charged believers to seek proper understanding of what is going on in the country at the moment to better prepare themselves for the journey ahead.
Themed: “Unstoppable,” this sixth edition of the conference aims to refuel, reenergize, and equip people spiritually to take on the second half of the year.
The non-denominational church stated this on Thursday in a statement by its Media Office.
