The club said Awoniyi would play with Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, scheduled for January 9 to February 6.
The Nigerian forward was signed by Liverpool from the Imperial Soccer Academy in 2015.

The striker is currently on loan at German Bundesliga side Union Berlin and a number of clubs, including the Hoops, are aware of his availability in the January window.
The Berlin outfit is the seventh club the Nigeria youth international would be joining on loan, having previously spent the last five years away from Merseyside.
The Nigeria youth international was forced off in the 23rd minute and was replaced by Karim Onisiwo in the Bundesliga game at Opel Arena.
