The statement, which was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday in Makurdi, recalled that Benue people voted overwhelmingly for former presidents Shehu Shagari and Umaru Musa Yar’Adua in 1979, 1983 and 2007 respectively.
Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue has advised Senator George Akume to showcase his achievements in his 11 years sojourn as senator, “instead of castigating me at every opportunity”.
The anti-graft agency said some of the cash withdrawals were made in bits of N10 million over the counter
Ortom, a member of the All Progressives Congress, said this against the backdrop of the clamour by governorship aspirants on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party that he should not be readmitted into the party.
No reason was given for the action
Ortom made his position known through Tahav Agerzua, his Special Adviser on Media and ICT
