The All Progressives Congress National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari over the affirmation of his reelection by the Supreme Court.
The Apex Court on Wednesday dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, on the basis of lacking merit, while ruling that President Buhari of the All Progressives Congress won the February 23, 2019 presidential election and was thus duly elected as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Gbajabiamila, who said though the victory of the President at the February presidential polls was never in doubt, however, expressed his appreciation of the final victory, whereby Nigerian democracy was tested by the Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
The appeals by Abubakar and the party were dismissed by the apex court on Wednesday
According to Daily Trust, the seven-man panel of the apex court led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Mohammed, said the panel agreed that there is no merit in the appeal.
