The vacation judge, Justice K. C. J. Okereke, took the decision as the Federal Government of Nigeria and five other respondents in the case have yet to file their response to the suit brought before the court by his counsel, challenging the alleged infringement on his fundamental human rights.

The court on Thursday evening ordered that Igboho be remanded in the custody of Brigade Criminelle in Cotonou pending the submission of charges by the Nigerian government.
Igboho, who was arrested at Cadjèhoun Airport in Cotonou on Monday night, is being tried for immigration-related offences.
This is as the Court D’Appeal in Cotouno adjourned the case involving the Yoruba rights activist till Friday, July 23, 2021.
