The Court ordered for a fresh election.The decision of Court was sequel to the petition by Senator Smart Adeyemi of the All Progressives Congress, who challenged the declaration of Melaye as the winner of he Kogi West Senatorial District election by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Senator Smart Adeyemi, Miss Natasha Akpoti and Senator Ahmed Ogembe have filed petitions against the conduct and outcome of the National Assembly election held in Kogi on February 23.
Also, Alhaji Abdulkarim Isah-Wambai of the APC has been declared winner of the House of Representatives election for Lokoja-Koto Federal Constituency
