An FCT High Court on Wednesday admitted the Chairman Board of Directors and Managing Director of the defunct Skye Bank PLC, Tunde Ayeni and Timothy Oguntayo, charged with four counts of money laundering to bail in the sum of N500 million each.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission charged Ayeni and Oguntayo with money laundering, involving N4.75 billion and $5 million.
The Federal Government has promised to persecute all those found to be responsible for the failure of the now defunct Skye Bank.
The Corporation adopts various bank failure resolution measures such as Purchase and Assumption, provision of liquidity support, assisted merger, take over and management of ailing banks. Other strategies include the establishment of bridge banks and where necessary, the outright liquidation of failed insured institutions
The exchange gave the notice in Lagos in a statement by Olumide Orojimi, Head of Corporate Communications, and Godstime Iwenekhai, Head of Listings Regulations.

Skye Bank Plc has flagged off its Money Transfer promo, tagged: “Skye Money Transfer promo,” aimed at rewarding the bank’s loyal customers.
