A delegation sent by Saraki earlier in the day was refused entry into the hospital by policemen
The incident, which happened on Tuesday, was described by the police as a premeditated attack by hoodlums on the police to prevent Melaye from being arraigned on allegations of gun running
Melaye, who was moved to the National Hospital from Zankili Hospital, also in Abuja, sustained injuries from his attempt to escape from policemen taking him to Lokoja in Kogi State by jumping out of the vehicle in which he was being taken

This announcement by Melaye came amid findings that Internally Displaced Persons from one of the camps in Abuja spent their bight at the entrance of Melaye ‘s residence in Abuja to defend him
Melaye made this known in a series of tweets late on Monday
As earlier reported by The Eagle Online, the police stormed Melaye’s home in Abuja after he was stopped from travelling out of the country to Morocco on Monday morning
The Spokesman of the Service, Sunday James, told the News Agency of Nigeria that Melaye was arrested by Immigration officials “based on instruction”.
