In a two-page petition document titled “Complaint Against State Governments And The Federal Capital Territory On Allegation Of Converting The NG-Care Program To A State Program And Then Corruptly Reducing The Amount Received And Beneficiaries” signed by its Chairman, Olanrewaju Suraju, the civil society group said a Senator representing Ondo central at the upper chamber of the National Assembly, Ayo Akinyelure made some weighty allegations against state governments with respect to Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic (NG-CARES).

Also included in the suit, as stated in the Originating Summons dated 13th July , 2021, are the president of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan; the chairman and members of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions as well as the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami .
The Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions is investigating the CCT boss.
