The Group aimed one of its initiatives, the ‘Youth Leadership Series’ (YLS), at deepening financial and entrepreneurial knowledge among Nigeria’s younger generations. The initiative, which was launched in 2018, is held in institutions of higher learning across the nation and brings together mentors from across various sectors of the economy to encourage and inspire the next generation. 

The donation, according to the leading miller, forms part of its corporate social investment drive to give back to its community, especially the vulnerable. The visit to the Children’s Village was part of the flour milling firm’s series of activities lined up to mark the 2021 World Food Day (WFD) themed: “Our actions are our future – Better production, better nutrition, a better environment and a better life.”

This unique initiative is part of HP PATH (Partnership and Technology for Humanity), a program to pave the way toward digital equity for underserved communities around the world – focusing on education, healthcare and economic opportunities. Earlier this year HP committed to accelerate digital equity for 150 million people by 2030.

A statement by the Focal Person, Enugu SDGs Office, Hon. Mabel Agbo, which called on fresh graduates of Enugu State extraction to hurry and apply for the programme via: www.njfp.ng before the October 20, 2021 closing date, explained that “the NJFP involves a work placement process that will place young Nigerians in private and public sector organizations in the country across multiple industries and sectors”.

According to the state Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, “Lagos State is particularly mindful of the effects of climate change and, as such, has shown and continues to show its commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030.

In a press release, the anti-graft coalition’s Director of Administration and Programmes, Tola Oresanwo, on behalf of its chairman, Mr. Debo Adeniran, noted: “It would be recalled that Justice Nicholas Oweibo who made the order also ordered the forfeiture of a property linked to the diversion – Real Tower Centre Shopping Complex at Plot 1121, Ekukinam Street, Utako District, Cadastral Zone, Abuja – to the Federal Government.

Speaking at an advocacy  programme on Wetlands and Biodiversity Conservation for Lagos East Senatorial District  held at the Afe Babalola Hall, University  of Lagos, Akoka,  Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tunji Bello said such awareness is required in order to foster community participation in Wetlands management across the state.
