The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Obgonnaya Onu, doled out N6.750 million to researchers, innovators and investors who distinguished themselves at the just concluded Technology and Innovation Expo 2019 which took place in Enugu.
Onu said such effort would assist the nation to produce enough energy needed to grow the nation’s economy.
The minister said this after listening to presentations by some student inventors and innovators at the ongoing 1st International Workshop on Science Parks and Innovation Eco-system for National Development on Friday at University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
The FMST Minister, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, said the committee would need to engage in aggressive public awareness on Nanotechnology in all states of the Federation.
Onu noted that technology was critical to economic development, adding that government had adopted technology to achieve economic progress.
