The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the statement to that effect was issued after the meeting of the political parties, under the aegis of Coalition of Opposition Political Parties (COPPs), in Calabar on Friday.
The representative of Cross River Central Senatorial District picked the ticket on Thursday at the party’s primaries.
This followed the acknowledgement of his outstanding performance in the last five years when he appeared before the Senate Screening Committee in Abuja
This was even as the upper chamber held a minute silence in honour of those who lost their lives in the ocean pathway of Calabar and Oron.
The court upheld the decision of the election petition tribunal in Calabar which had declared Onor as duly elected against Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba of the APC in the February 23rd National Assembly elections.
