The pressure group made its position known in a letter submitted to President Buhari, dated December 6, 2021.
The group in a statement released signed by Prince Rwang Pam Jnr., insisted that it is not in the interest of Nigeria’s unity for power to remain in the North considering that a northerner is about to complete eight years of Presidency.
The Group in a statement signed by its spokesman Rwang Pam Jnr. stated that though there is no express provision for zoning in the Constitution, Section 14(3) explicitly provides for distribution of offices in the composition of government in the country and therefore disapproves of any attempt by any region to dominate other regions.
The group stated that the seven-member committee set up by the Senate on Wednesday should proactively adopt the House of Representatives version of Section 52 (3) of the bill.
