The Rule of Law Accountability and Advocacy Centre has called on the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Dr. Solomon Arase, to as a matter of urgency halt the routine and discriminate arrests and detention of countless Imo State residents by operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Tiger Base, Owerri under the Imo State Police Command.

In a statement signed by the Executive Director of RULAAC, Okechukwu Nwaguma, on Tuesday, the group said it wasn’t persuaded by the statement issued by the spokespersons of the President, which had stated that Buhari neither directed the Attorney-General of the Federation nor the governor of the Central Bank to disobey the order of the Supreme Court.

The Rule of Law and Accountability Advocacy Centre in collaboration with the Anambra State Police Command with support from Open Society Justice Initiative have concluded plans to ensure that citizens and policemen become aware of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law in Anambra State.
