It was a date that invokes pain over the loss of about 3000 innocent citizens in the United States but could have put the General Overseer of the RCCG, Worldwide, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, in trouble.
Adeboye, who is the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) and Aregbesola, the incumbent Minister of Interior, are both from Osun.
It was learnt that a bus conveying 15 of the RCCG members had engaged in excessive speed, defying passengers’ call for caution.

The Pastor, based in the United Kingdom, reacted to the position of another Pastor of the church, Timothy Olaniyan.
It is a global phenomenon whose consequences are only much worse in our clime. Read with me Dr. Tony Evan’s recent heart-cry about the American church:
The apology by Like to the pastors came after he was sanctioned by the church, which was learnt to be suspension.
Every first service of the month is designed as Thanksgiving Sunday and all RCCG pastors are expected to hook up their parishes with the National Headquarters where Adeboye will deliver a sermon
The RCCG Leader also called on all members to participate actively in the politics of the country, stressing that they were Nigerian first before they became Christians.
The Pastor stated this in a sermon in which he explained to the congregation the factors that triggered his decision.

Akinnola, a veteran journalist, author, lawyer and activist, said the commotion was a ploy to create division in Christendom.
The RCCG, headed by Pastor Enoch Adeboye, had created the Office of Directorate of Politics and Governance to engage members willing to be involved in politics and “mobilise support for them when required”.
