The Federal Government has commenced aerial spray of pesticides to control invasion of Quelea birds in North East Nigeria, an official of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has confirmed.
The Jigawa Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Alhaji Kabiru Ali, said that the state spent N50millon in buying chemicals used to spray and quell Quelea birds in 2017.
A News Agency of Nigeria investigation reveals that the communities are: Ayama, Furawa, Auyo, Mado, Adaha Gamsarku, Tsidir, Hadiyo, Gatafa, Marina, Anauya, Tagir, Zumoni, Muran, Fige, kateje and Hakudau.
