A statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the university, Akeem Lasisi, quoted the Vice Chancellor, Professor Adesola Ajayi, as describing the publication as hasty, speculative and unfounded.

The pioneer VC of the institution attracted many dignitaries to Ile-Ife, Osun State, on Sunday, where a church service and reception were held in his honour.
The symposium with the theme, ‘Green Technology for Sustainable National Development’, was organised by the Faculty of Applied and Natural Sciences, which also gave Salami two awards.
They did this on Wednesday April 20, when his ‘Committee of Friends’ held a party in his honour at Tech-U, where some officials of the Isiaka Ajimobi government that established the institution were also present. Among them were the former Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Olalekan Ali; and a former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Bimbo Kolade.
The Vice Chancellor spoke on a weekly radio show, Parrot Xtra/Ayekooto on Radio, anchored by Olayinka Agboola.
According to the NUC, Tech-U is seventh in the rankings of the state universities and 27th among the 113 ranked nationally.
The school established by the First Technical School, Ibadan, emerged the state champion on Friday, at the final stage held on the premises of the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS).
