Okebukola gave the advice as the keynote speaker at the 7th International Conference of the Faculty of Education, Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo in Lagos Tuesday.

Established in 1928, NARST is a global organization for improving science education through research and Okebukola would be the first African to be accorded such honour.
He stated this at a two-day capacity building workshop by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund on Monday in Abuja.
The two-day event organised by the Africa Progress Group (APG) and the Centre for Human Security and Dialogue of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library was held onsite and online and was facilitated by the Open Society Foundations based in the US with African Headquarters headed by Dr L Muthoni Wanyeki.

The process which started in 2019 and expected to be completed in September 2021, is a key part of the 2019-2023 Blueprint for the Rapid Revitalisation of the Nigerian University System.
