Speaking at the 2018 edition of the Annual Gold Medal Lecture of the Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria in Lagos, the experts lamented that the growing trend of fake news has become hurtful to communication, particularly public relations, which is anchored on message believability.
According to a statement in Lagos and signed by the association’s President, John Ehiguese, and Publicity Secretary, Israel Jaiye Opayemi, PRCAN described the Executive Order as “exceptional, courageous and an act of nationalism which puts our country first over and above the popular penchant of government officials for all things foreign, and particularly Caucasian”.
According to the MoU, which was signed by both parties on Wednesday, both PRCAN and the SMC will collaborate in the areas of mutual benefits, each offering services from its areas of expertise.
Described as a “Fireside Chat”, the event will feature a Question and Answer session with renowned economist, Dr. Biodun Adedipe, with the theme: “Macro-economic Factors That Will Impact the Nigerian Marketing Communications Industry in 2018.”
