ASUP President, Anderson Ezeibe, said members of the union had vowed to shut down polytechnics across the nation till the Federal Government meets their demands.
In a statement signed by its Head of Media and Publicity, Dr Fabian Benjamin in Abuja, JAMB said that public universities would conclude admissions a month ahead of private institutions, polytechnics and colleges of education.
The fund said the fund was meant to bolster the conduct of cutting-edge researches in the nation’s tertiary institutions.
The directive to embark on the strike was contained in a release signed by the Acting National Secretary of the association, Emmanuel Enyiegor, on Monday in Calabar.
Elumelu, represented by Ayoku Liadi, Executive Director, UBA Plc, said this at a public lecture to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the Lagos State Polytechnic in Ikorodu.
This is to enable such graduates to contribute to industrial and technological development of the country.
He noted that the entire run-off from the institution and some parts of surrounding communities, including Amaokpala, was being emptied into the gully, which had taken over a hectare within the polytechnic
