PENGASSAN said it it has watched with keen interest as the Dr. Nasir Issa Faggie-led ASUU declared a three-day warning strike before it finally embarked on an indefinite strike action on July 1, 2013 towards ensuring that the Federal Government honoured the cardinal agreements reached with the University lecturers since 2009

PENGASSAN, in a statement on Tuesday, said: “Petrobras as a corporate personality including its management in Nigeria must respect due process and rule of law and ensure that the parent body of the organized labour in Petrobras, which is PENGASSAN is adequately engaged in accordance with the provisions of our extant national and labour laws, and the industry best practices before the plan divestment is finalized and as part of the process of consummating due diligence on Petrobras. Such exercise goes a long way to minimize the harrowing incidence of contingent liabilities and hindrances for the Divesting Company, Petrobras, and the Divestee that would acquire Petrobras assets and portfolios in Nigeria.
