The governor described the death of Pastor Adeboye’s son as an unfortunate development which has inflicted a wound in the hearts of family members in particular, the Christian community, all lovers of Adeboye and Nigerians in their millions.
Pastor Dare Adeboye, an Assistant Pastor in charge of Youth in Region 35 of RCCG and third surviving child of the renowned cleric, died in his sleep on Wednesday in Eket, Akwa Ibom State. He was 42-year-old.
Jonathan in a condolence message, in Abuja on Thursday, expressed sadness over the passing of the pastor, describing him as a much-loved clergyman.
In a condolence message released by his spokesman, Femi Adesina, in Abuja on Thursday, Buhari also commiserated with members of the RCCG on the demise of the Assistant Pastor in charge of Region (Youth) 35.
Lamenting the passing of the 42-year-old pastor, Kalu stressed that the younger Adeboye died in his prime, adding that the deceased was committed to the work of God like his father.
The Akindayomi-Adeboye Intensive Health Care Centre is the foremost in size and sophistication among the several others previously commissioned by the RCCG in Lagos, Ogun and Plateau States.
The brief meeting which was held at the Oke-Ayaba Government House had in attendance the wife of the Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Olawale Fapohunda, Head of Service, Peju Babafemi, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Biodun Omoleye, the Regional Pastor of RCCG, Pastor Goke Kuti and former Chief of Defence Staff, retired Gen. Abayomi Olonisakin and other top government functionaries.
Pastor Adeboye made this known when he paid a courtesy call on Gov. Nasir El-Rufai at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House on Tuesday in Kaduna.

The renowned cleric made the call on Saturday during a special meeting with all ordained ministers of the mission at RCCG, Region 21, Oyo State.
In a string of tweets, his wife of over 50 years, Pastor Folu Adeboye, described him as “the husband every woman wants”.
