The Governor, who spoke at the 50th birthday reception of his Special Adviser on  Information and Strategy, Semiu Okanlawon, in Iwo, Osun State, said by the  appointment of Adams, who is from Arigidi Akoko, Ondo State, he has become the Generalissimo of both the seen and unseen Yorubas home and abroad.

This was as Prof. Sophie Oluwole and Dr. Kemi Ojemoghaat, who all spoke at the 2017 World Literacy Day, with the theme: “Literacy in a Digital World,” called on government to offer genuine leadership and vision for the future of digital skills and digital economy in the country, with Oluwole reminding that computer was not new to Africa as depicted by the Ifa divinity, which is common to the Yoruba race

In a communique issued by the socio cultural body of Yoruba natives in the diaspora under the umbrella of OPU after its 3rd Europe Summit in Gothenburg, Sweden at the weekend, the group, among other decisions, said it “supports the call for restructuring and devolution of power” even as it also “globally seeks, wants and supports that Nigeria be structured via regional line”

According to the group’s Director of Media and Publicity, Chief Femi Davies, the joint action of the Lagos Police State Command, including the Rapid Response Squad and the Mobile Police Unit, and the Oodua People’s Congress, led by Otunba Gani Adams, and other vigilante groups will no doubt put an end to the reign of terror, which the Badoo cult had subjected the residents to.

At the ceremony, which held inside the Palace of Oba Akran, the prominent monarch stated that the reason Otunba Adams was offered the chieftaincy was in recognition of his contributions to the promotion of the tourism sector in Badagry through Olokun Festival Foundation, which yearly organizes Olokun Festival that had been held in the last 15 years.
