Hussaini Rabi’u, the state Commissioner of Police, disclosed this at a news conference in Gusau on Sunday.
The operatives recovered two firearms, four live ammunition of .9mm calibre, one expended cartridge, two vehicles, one tricycle, one machete and other incriminating items.
Baba, who revealed this at a weekly media press briefing organised by the Presidential Media Team in Abuja on Thursday, said the recovery of the weapons followed the launching of Operation Restore Peace in the South East and South South zones of the federation.
The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that on May 18, the acting Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, launched the operation in Enugu, designed to restore lasting peace in the South East.
According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, CP Frank Mba, the police chief performed the launch at the Sharks Football Stadium, Port-Harcourt, saying that the move is a continuation of the implementation process of the special operation in the country.
