Retired Rear Admiral Yaminu Musa, the Coordinator, National Counter-Terrorism Centre in the Office of the National Security Adviser, says proceeds of kidnapping are being used to partly finance terrorism.
The commitment was disclosed during a courtesy visit by the Director General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye to the National Coordinator of NCTC-ONSA, retired, Rear Adm. Yaminu Musa, Wednesday in Abuja.

Insecurity in Nigeria poses threat to life and property, hampers business activity, and discourages local and foreign investors, thereby leading to a deficit in the country’s social and economic growth and development. The country has been experiencing a rise in the level of insecurity since gaining political independence in 1960. Recently, rising insecurity has assumed a dangerous dimension which is threatening the country’s corporate existence. This is occasioned by booming banditry and kidnapping industries in the North-west and North central regions.
The office described the report as false and concocted to cause confusion and mislead the public.
When the matter was called on Tuesday, counsel to Dokpesi, Mr Kanu Agabi (SAN), told the court that the frozen accounts and documents were connected to the money laundering allegation levelled against Dokpesi.
It has also directed the immediate dismantling of all illegal security outfits in the country, and warned against the use of these outfits to extort, harass and intimidate Nigerians.
In a statement on Thursday in Abuja, ONSA said the correspondence was a routine threat assessment to ensure preparedness of agencies and not meant for public dissemination.
