The Governor of Lagos State, Akinwummi Ambode, on Tuesday urged Nigerians to continue to pray for soldiers currently in theatres of war.

The governor spoke at the 2018 World Habitat Day held at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, with the theme: “Municipal Solid Waste Management.”
The British Prime Minister, who arrived the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport at about 4:30pm, was received by the Governor; Deputy Governor, Dr. Oluranti Adebule; Secretary to the State Government, Tunji Bello; and Special Adviser, Overseas Affairs and Investment, Prof. Ademola Abass
The statement said: “As is our tradition to commemorate the Children’s Day celebration at BON, the First Lady of Lagos, Mrs. Ambode, Senator Remi Tinubu, and Dr. (Mrs) Oluranti Adebule will be reading exciting and educational books with school children in Lagos, alongside other Nollywood stars.
Speaking after performing the laying of wreath and release of pigeons in commemoration of the 2017 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration held at Remembrance Arcade, Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos, Governor Ambode noted that one of the best ways to appreciate and acknowledge the supreme price paid by gallant members of the armed forces who lost their lives in the defence of the sovereignty of the country is to ensure that conflicts are always resolved amicably.
