While welcoming guests at the meeting, the GMD, Oliver Alawuba, said that as Africa’s global bank, UBA remains at the forefront of leading conversations that will lead to positive change on the continent, while helping to unlock the vast opportunities waiting to be tapped from Africa.
The bank in a statement in Lagos, said the Deputy Managing Directors would be in charge of UBA’s Nigeria and Africa businesses respectively.
The service, which is available to both customers and non-customers alike, is expected to encourage intra-Africa trade, as cash withdrawal can now be done in local currencies within the continent, while deposits can also be made at any location regardless of where the account is domiciled.
