The Chairman of the council and Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, Oba Adebanji Alabi, made the call in a statement in Ado Ekiti on Friday.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the traditional ruler was shot on Friday night on his way to a neighbouring community, Ayetoro Ekiti in Ido/Osi Local Government Area of the state.
The Governor also charged the traditional rulers and all Ekiti indigenes against unnecessary and baseless rivalry which can lead to communal clashes, adding that every well-meaning Ekiti-kete should aim at the peace and progress of the State.
