The Lagos Sector Commander, Corps Commander Olusegun Ogungbemide, stated that the corps is aware of the increase in the number of motorists using invalid and unregistered number plates as well as the continuous use of old government number plates by private vehicle owners, hence the need for the special operation to stop this illegal act.

Mobayo also warned against the unauthorized/illegal use of siren, revolving light and use of unregistered spy plate numbers in the state.
The directive, which was re-echoed by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has recorded the impoundment of six vehicles by the operatives of RRS in different parts of the State.
