Akinlosotu in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Akure hailed the decision of the president to give Nigerian youths voice in the country’s democratic setting.
According to him, the signing into law of the much-awaited bill is a re-affirmation of Buhari’s efforts in uplifting Nigerian youths.

Leader of the group, Samson Itodo, told State House correspondents after visiting Osinbajo on Thursday in Abuja that the movement was awaiting President Muhammadu Buhari’s accent to the Not-Too-Young-To-Run Bill, the last stage of its demand.
Samson Itodo, one of the conveners of the meeting told newsmen in Abuja, that 35 states had passed the bill, which sought the reduction of age for those vying for elective offices.
The House also passed the Bill for the funding of Houses of Assembly directly from the Consolidated Revenue Fund and Bill to change the name of the Nigerian Police Force to ‘Nigeria Police’.
Yero made the assertion in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday in Kaduna while reacting to the Not too young to run Bill passed by the National Assembly.
According to Itodo, the Not Too Young To Run group is a movement of youths and civil society groups advocating for the reduction of age to run for elective offices.
The situation was no different in Nigeria as the required constitutionally age for being elected as president or vice president was 40 years until the relentless efforts of the Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki-led senate to change these laws by passing the ‘not too young to run bill’.
The group called on the Lagos Assembly to back the Not Too Young To Run Bill passed by the National Assembly as well as that on independent candidacy in the ongoing process to amend the 1999 constitution.
