Dr Garba Abari, Director-General of the agency, gave the advice on Tuesday ‎in Kano while delivering a paper entitled, “Hate Speech is not Free Speech” at the on-going second Nigeria Union of Journalists National Conference.

Abari condemned the lingering scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly known as petrol, across the country, describing it as a ploy by conscienceless and unpatriotic marketers to force government to increase the pump price of the products. 

He condemned the murder of the septuagenarian on accusations of religious blasphemy and called on Nigerians to unite against intolerance, stressing that there can never be a justification for citizens taking the law into their hands or engaging in acts capable of threatening national cohesion

Ali urged them to imbibe and propagate the nation’s core values as a first step toward contributing meaningfully to national development.
Mohammed, who was represented by the Deputy Director, Alhaji Mohammed S. Aliyu, said the National Ethics are deliberately enshrined in Chapter Two, Section 23 of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria to rally Nigerians around common values and de-emphasize their differences
