NiMet made the prediction in the Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Abuja
It stated that partly cloudy conditions would prevail over Makurdi, Lokoja and Ilorin with maximum temperatures of 28 to 35 degrees Celsius
It said that isolated thundery showers would prevail over few areas such as Lokoja, Makurdi, Bida, Ilorin and Abuja during evening and night hours with night time temperatures of 30 to 35 degrees Celsius
The agency predicted that the southern states would experience cloudy morning with prospect of localised thunderstorms over the entire inland cities
It explained that the end of the rainy season would herald hot and dry weather conditions in the afternoons, while cold nights would set in, especially in the northern part
It added that there were chances of isolated thunderstorms over most of the high-grounds areas of the region later in the day with day time temperatures of 30 to 35 degrees Celsius
