A statement issued on Thursday in Lagos by NiOMA Organising Committee Chairman, Lanre Alabi, identified some of the nominees as the Minister for Communications, Adebayo Shittu; Africa’s Serial Digital Entrepreneur, Leo Stan Ekeh; and Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State.
The event had been originally scheduled for May 18 but was postponed due to the Ramadan and party congresses, which altered the plans of some of the key personalities expected to grace the event.

A statement issued on Sunday in Lagos by the initiators of the award, News Express online newspaper, said Alabi, the CEO of the Lagos-based international marketing communications firm, Prospers Strategy, was chosen to oversee the awards on account of his vast experience in brand building and management, business communications, marketing, banking, high profile journalism, as well as consulting.
