It is an appreciable improvement again in 2019 as Germany, Austria and 30 other countries will be represented at the Seamaster ITTF Challenge Plus Nigeria Open from August 7 to 11 at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Hall of Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

Over 100 players competed in the preliminary round with the intention of making it to the main draw and at the end of the second day, 32 men and 16 women will be joining the seeded players in the main draw (round of 64 in men and round of 32 in the women).

Nigeria Open remains the highest prize money tournament among the ITTF Challenge Series with a purse of $46,000 and the world table tennis ruling body has also named Algeria’s Mounir Bessah as the competition manager
