Wabba, who commended the National Assembly for voting in favour of Local Government autonomy, said the lawmakers demonstrated bravery by respecting the wishes of the people in spite of pressures from vested interests.
This was even as Adekomi disclosed that the leadership of the union has reached a compromise with the state government on the disbursement of the second tranche of Paris Club refunds to offset parts of the balance of the modulated salaries.

Bello made the appeal in Minna during a meeting with the state Commissioner for Education, Hajiya Fatima Madugu; and Prof. Muhammad Maiturare, the Chairman, Governing Board, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University.
“Governor Bello has no power to proscribe the union and such power does not reside with him or with the Government House,” Wabba said in Lagos, during a visit of the NLC leadership to affiliate unions.
