NEBPRIL said the Commission under the watch of the Director-General, Lanre Gbajabiamila has seemingly enabled acts that “border on official deceit, financial fraud, administrative infractions, impunity and other forms of official malfeasance, that run contrary to the civil/public service rules, Procurement Act as well as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Act.”
Coming against the background of fines imposed on the broadcasting trio of ARISE News Channel, African Independent Television and Channels Television, NEBPRIL stated that the NBC could ill afford to act as complainant, prosecutor and judge in one fell swoop.
The call was contained in a letter to both the President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, made available to newsmen in Abuja on Sunday.
This was contained in a statement in Abuja on Monday, signed by its Chairman, Hon. Victor Afam Ogene, a former member House of Representatives.
