The Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development on April 30, 2021 dissolved the boards of 30 National Sports Federations after the expiration of their tenures.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has given three National Sports Federations deadlines to hold their Congress to adopt and ratify their Constitutions.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has set up a seven-man Committee to map out a clear and defined funding structure for National Sports Federations.
According to the General Team Manager, Tayo Oreweme, an advance party and the Ministry’s secretariat will leave on March 18 as the Delegates’ Registration Meeting holds on March 22, 2018.
The Chairman of the Committee, Abdulrazak Salau, said in a statement that the affected federations were those of Athletics, Gymnastics, Wrestling and Taekwondo.
The elections have been fixed for July 7

A seven-man electoral appeals committee has also been constituted to consider and decide on all appeals and petitions arising from the elections, if any
