Speaking at the National Food Security Council meeting held at the State House, President Buhari noted that there was need for more effort to increase food production and self-sufficiency, assuring that the Federal Government will continue to promote policies that favour investments in the agricultural sector.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that others at the meeting include the National Security Adviser to the President, Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno (retd.) and the Director General of the Department of State Services, Yusuf Bichi.
Speaking during the inauguration, the President pledged that his administration would remain focused in securing the nation’s food requirements and employment for the people especially the youths.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the meeting, which began at about 12.00 noon in the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa is attended by all members of the Council.
