Former Governor Olusegun Mimiko did his best for Ondo State with the best of intentions. However, when the economic meltdown unexpectedly hit Nigeria, Ondo State was one of the states gasping for breath to survive. Fayose said that the state would continue to lead in external public examinations as he would not relent until it was fully restored to its days of glory in the education.
Uwakwe said that 1,055,988 candidates registered for the examination, among whom 1,051,472 wrote the tests in 76 subjects.

NECO said there is remarkable improvement in the results when compared to previous examinations
The projects, which will cover roads, bridges, land reclamation, erosion challenges, power supply and education, is at a cost of N98.589 billion
