The NAPTIP boss who expressed mixed feeling over the 2020 United States Trafficking in Persons (TIP) report which elevated Nigeria from the previous Tier 2 Watch list to Tier 2 ranking, said the Agency is presently studying the report with a view to identifying areas of improvement and scale up the activities of the agency.

The baby factory, Nwamaka Herbal Centre, located at Ikpokwu, Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State was sealed by operatives of the agency on Wednesday following the refusal of the owner to respond to invitations extended to her by the agency.

Sponsored by the US Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs and implemented by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the retreat provided an opportunity for members of the judiciary and prosecutors at the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons to discuss admissibility of electronic evidence in human trafficking cases under Nigerian law.  

The State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, who doubled as Chairman of the Committee on Child and Human Trafficking in the State, Akingbolahan Adeniran, made this submission during the constitution of Coordinators and Subcommittee of Task Forces to tackle incessant human trafficking and molestation of child, held at his office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
