The Kano Police Command on Monday announced the arrest of  30 hoodlums for attempting to disrupt the  just concluded mass wedding organised by the Kano State Government.

Soja-Anyembugu, said this on Sunday at the marriage matrimony of 10 couples he sponspored, who were church leaders in Awe Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

Speaking at the wedding fatiha and ceremony at Tsafe emir’s palace on Saturday, Abdullahi said that the gesture was aimed at supporting the less privileged and victims of banditry and other security challenges.

The marriages were arranged by the state and Argungu Local Governments to reduce the number of women, widowed or divorced, left to fend for themselves and their children.

Hajiya Zahra’u Umar, the Deputy Commander of the Kano State Hisba Board, told NAN that the event was in four phases, with the first set consisting of 100 couples, followed by 250, 1,000 and 1,100 couples respectively
