The Adamawa Police Command has confirmed the arrest of 44 persons involved in the activities of stealing food and non-food items in government warehouses.

The suspects were arrested following information received at the Agbara divisional headquarters that some hoodlums were vandalizing and looting the warehouse.
These include 10 people killed in a stampede during looting on Monday night at a shopping centre in Soweto, the country’s biggest township.
The Chairman of the committee, Adeogun Adejoro who extended the invitation on Thursday in Abuja said that it was necessary for the committee to know the number of recovered loot and where they were being kept.
The government made this known in a statement issued by Olisa Ifeajika, Chief Press Secretary to Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa on Wednesday in Asaba.
The Head, Media and Public Affairs, Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Abdulrazaque Bello-Barkindo, in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday, said that the forum’s 21st teleconference would start by 2pm.
The police announced on Wednesday that they arrested 238 suspects from whom 35 tractors, nine vehicles, more than 600 bags of fertiliser, 50 hand tractors and hoes and 18 bags of maize were recovered.
Adesina spoke on a Channels Television programme, Sunrise Daily, on Thursday in response to the violence that led to the looting of government warehouses and attack on private and public properties.
The Chairperson of KADSPAC, Jessica Bartholomew, made the condemnation in a statement issued to newsmen on Monday in Kaduna.
“The nation must not allow itself to descend to the level of anarchy. I appeal to the people undertaking these improper actions of outright looting and arson to stop,” he said.
Representatives of the groups made their reactions in separate statements made available to the News Agency of Nigeria.
The Igbo socio-cultural group in a statement jointly signed by its President, Dr Nnanna Igwe and Secretary Mazi Kingsley Offor (Esq), stated that the acts were not acceptable, and negate the vision of the #EndSARS movement.
The party said the lingering #EndSARS protests had revealed the intensity of the anger in the land, adding that people were fed up with both the ruling All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party as a result of the failure of the two parties to harness the vast resources of the country for sustainable growth and development over the years.
